John Darous was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, to a vibrant Greek and Syrian family. From childhood, he was surrounded by stories—family tales, cultural traditions, and the little adventures of everyday life—that sparked his imagination and planted the seeds of a lifelong love of storytelling.

After earning a Science degree from Monash University, John spent several years working in the insurance industry. While the work was steady, he realized that his mind—and heart—needed more. Writing started as an escape from the daily grind, a space where he could explore ideas freely, create characters, and build worlds where anything was possible. Over time, it became much more than that: a calling, a passion, and a way to bring a little magic into the world.

This passion culminated in his debut novel, The Concordian Chronicles: Jonah’s Awakening. Inspired by both his imagination and his spiritual journey, John weaves themes of adventure, self-discovery, and the unseen connections of life into his storytelling. His spiritual practice—meditation, reflection, and a deep curiosity about the mysteries of existence—played a key role in shaping the story, giving it a depth that goes beyond the page and invites readers to explore both fantastical worlds and the questions of their own lives.

Outside of writing, John is a bit of a culinary experimenter, always trying new recipes in the kitchen, often with unpredictable results. He shares his home with Bonnie, his clever and mischievous beagle, who has a talent for winning battles over the remote control (and occasionally John’s attention). Together, they keep life playful, lively, and occasionally chaotic—just the way John likes it.

John also finds inspiration in travel, nature, and the small, ordinary moments of life that often hold extraordinary insights. For him, storytelling is more than just creating characters or worlds—it’s about inviting readers on a journey where imagination, curiosity, and wonder meet, and where every story leaves a spark of thought, laughter, and inspiration.
